Am going off on a road trip to KL tomorrow. Don’t think am gonna meet up with 일라이, EQ, and Bisexual B though as it’s more of a family trip than a joy-trip.
Watched Immortals yesterday with my lil sis. I was surprised she wanted to come with, as I did not know that she was interested in Greek Mythology - even though the film rather shied away from the myth, rather making an inspired version instead.
I didn’t watch it in 3D, but the movie’s pretty enough as it is without the 3D effect.
Prettiness aside, I hate how they illustrate the Titans and the Olympians.
Portrayal of Theseus is just OK. Kinda disappointed though that they did not play into who his fathers are, although it is understandable.
The thing is, I walked out of the cinema being utterly confused. Is this a story about Olympians and Titans - thus the name Immortals, or is it a story about Theseus and Hyperion? It just seemed to me that the storyline can be further tightened.
Theseus is one of my favourite heroes if compared to the likes of Perseus and Heracles. I think one of the reason was that he was always underrated.
Thats’s why I’ve always loved the song Theseus by Patrick Wolf - featuring the lovable Tilda Swinton as the Voice of Hope too.
