I was just browsing my iPhoto for the Raya 08 photo album when I discovered that. [Yes. I'm already missing my mum when it's only been a week since I'm away from home.]
One tip that I will gladly give everyone who likes to shoot [using camera of course]. >>
Whenever you're taking a portrait of someone/group/family, always take an extra shot, when someone least expects it. Like, in a group picture right, after you've taken that picture, just lie to the group and say that you're done taking the picture and it's perfect. Some split seconds after you've said that though, snap another one.
Now, the second picture you took, is going to be magically filled with faces of the same person from the first picture you took, but with amazing smiles on them. Smile upon smiles, which brightens your day when you look at it. That second picture, is the perfect picture for the shot.
I got that tip from a professor of mine, who has a godlike talent in photography; and that was how I discovered that my mom has the most amazing smile of all. [plus, she's still cute and pretty :D]
p/s: to anyone who's interested [and wants to see the truth in what i say about my prof] can go and see his flickr site at >> http://www.flickr.com/photos/ronanconroy or you can click HERE and, might I recommend that you start first with his collections and photosets that he took when he spends about 17 years of his life in Kenya. They were all awesome shots. [by the way, the url will only be available for the next 2 weeks. After that, I'll delete it. [don't want him to know i've hotlinked him :D]
p/p/s: some samples of his work >>

and p/p/ps: and, if you're clever, you can find photoset of Penang, coz he loves to travel to Penang when he can. [he's Irish if anyone's wondering]
Lastly, just wanna ask, if anyone's familiar with the technique I've mentioned before. Can I just ask, it really does produce a different picture right? One which is more beautiful ?
